Hoewel de term "cinemagraph" niet ouder is dan een jaar, lijkt de nieuwe vorm van kunst meer terrein te winnen. Visual graphic artist Kevin Burg begon al in 2009 kunst te linken aan het .gif format en subtiele bewegende beelden, maar het was pas toen hij begon samen te werken met fotograaf Jamie Beck, dat de term cinemagraph echt betekenis kreeg.
Onderstaande foto's lijken dan misschien wel makkelijk, het zijn eigenlijk verschillende complexe frames van een geïsoleerd item dat beweegt met daarachter de normale, statische foto... Ik ben alvast fan en hoop dat .gif's zo niet meer bij iedereen het gedachtengoed oproepen van *FLASH* *FLASH* ONE MILLIONTH VISITOR *FLASH* *CLICK, VENSTER DICHT*.
