Gelukkig kon hij genoeg mensen overtuigen met de fantastische kunstwerken die hij en zijn team hadden gemaakt voor de storyboards.
Wij zetten ze hier alvast nog eventjes op een rijtje...
Allereerst strikte Gilliam Samuel Hidada, de producer van ondermeer True Romance en Resident Evil. Hij wist
de man te overtuigen met niets meer dan met een paar schetsen en een sprookjesachtige visie.
Vervolgens kon hij ook Heath Ledger strikken voor deze surrealistische prent: Ledger stond op dat moment in de startblokken voor de fantastische rol van The Joker te spelen in 'The Dark Knight'. Hij zag de prenten en een kleine animatie die Gilliam had uitgetekend en was direct enthousiast.
De twee konden het volledig met elkaar vinden en alles leek dan ook perfect te gaan. Tot plots Heath tijdens de opnames van de film overleed.
Even leek het alsof de film niet zou worden uitgebracht. Maar Johnny Depp, Colin Farrel en Jude law namen allen de rol van Heath gedeelijtelijk over waardoor 'The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus' gered was.
De film zelf zal pas begin februari in de Belgische en Nederlandse bioscoop worden getoond maar toch delen we nu al graag een paar van de fantastische designs die deze twee personen overhaalden in dit project te stappen.
