In augustus vorig jaar werd er al een gerucht verspreid dat animatiestudio Pixar aan een nieuwe productie zou werken waarin dinosaurussen zullen te zien zijn. De geruchtenmolen kwam op gang toen Pixarplanet een foto online plaatste die genomen werd op het kantoor van Pixar-ontwerper Greg Dykstra tijdens een featurette van Up. Op de achtergrond zagen we toen enkele concept art-tekeningen van een jongen en een dinosaurus.
Toevallig is Pixar-animator Austin Madison net in dezelfde periode met enkele medewerkers (waaronder ook Greg Dykstra) naar South Dakota getrokken. In die streek bevinden zich verschillende archeologische sites waar heel wat fossielen van dinosaurussen gevonden zijn. Lijkt plots nogal hard op een research field-trip, nee?...
Na de verschillende geruchten die de ronde deden heeft PixarTalk nu een foto naar buiten gebracht van Up-productiedesigner Ricky Nierva. Op de achtergrond zien we enkele nieuwe concept art-tekeningen van het project met o.a. een brontosaurus, een prehistorische alligator, een pterodactylus en een steekmug. Het is nog niet duidelijk of het om een langspeelfilm of kortfilm gaat maar we kijken er toch al naar uit...
