Wanneer je tegen iemand vertelt fan te zijn van visual effects en VFX in films lijkt het alsof je automatisch films als Star Wars, Iron Man etc bedoelt. Een beetje raar niet waar? (Bijna) elke moderne film bevat hier en daar wel een toefje VFX... Hoe dit beter te staven dan met een voorbeeld uit de oscar-nominaties?
The Black Swan
Het drama van regisseur Darren Aronofsky (bekend van The Wrestler) verhaalt over een ballerina (Nathalie Portman) die haar weg zoekt naar de top in het New York City Ballet. Het is een film over het harde bestaan van een balletdanseres die hogerop wil in haar wereldje.
Niet direct de meest 'piew pang - spaceship - alien'-achtige film dus! En toch bevat de film veel subtiele (en soms minder subtiele) VFX-toetsen. De volgende demoreel toont waar ik het over heb:
The Black Swan kreeg vijf oscarnominaties en de release van de film vindt in Nederland plaats op 3 februari en in België op 23 februari.
